More about this plant

Shaina is a handsome dwarf Japanese maple of compact, globe shaped form, roughly 4 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide at maturity and only 3 to 4 feet after fifteen years. Its freely branching, twiggy growth becomes dense with age and gives the branches a tufted look. New foliage emerges bright red and matures to a deep maroon red, and a mid summer flush of light red leaves contrasts against the older dark foliage before the whole plant turns brilliant crimson red in fall. Slow growing and low maintenance, it is ideal for containers and small spaces, patios, entryways and garden accents.
