More about this plant

Crimson Queen is a small red weeping Japanese maple of the lace leaf type, forming a low cascading mound. Its leaf lobes are among the most heavily and deeply divided of any needle lace leaf, opening dark maroon, fading to a lighter red through summer and finishing bright scarlet in fall. It holds colour best with late day shade and needs protection from hot afternoon sun, and is hardy in zones 5 to 9. Slow growing and long lived, it is a wonderful low weeping tree for a container, a patio edge or a small shaded bed.
