More about this plant

A compact, mounded native sweetspire holding to about 2 to 3 feet tall and wide with an arching, dense habit. Lightly fragrant creamy white flowers open on three to six inch racemes from late spring into early summer, and the glossy green leaves turn brilliant orange and red in fall, giving colour comparable to burning bush from a North American native. It takes full sun through shade, though flowers and fall colour improve with some daily sun, prefers moist soil and tolerates wet ground, and is not fussy about pH. Bees, butterflies and moths work the blooms. Use it massed, in mixed borders, in containers, or in a rain garden.

  • Full Sun
  • Grows to 3 ft tall and 3 ft wide
  • Blooms in spring, summer
  • Hardy in USDA zones 5-9
  • Deciduous foliage
