More about this plant

A red maple selection with a good oval rounded form, growing 40 to 50 feet tall and 30 to 40 feet wide, and known for brilliant orange to red fall colour that arrives later than most maples. Small red flowers open in short drooping clusters in late winter before the leaves and are an early nectar source for bees, followed by paired winged samaras in spring. It grows fast in full sun to partial shade in moist, slightly acidic, fertile soil and tolerates compaction, drought, heat, pollution and wet soil. A dependable shade and street tree.
