More about this plant
A dwarf butterfly bush that mounds to roughly 18 to 30 inches tall and about as wide, carrying fragrant indigo blue flower spikes that begin earlier than the original Blue Chip and continue through summer without deadheading. Silver green foliage sets off the flowers, which draw bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. It wants full sun and low water with good drainage, tolerates drought and deer, and is easy to keep. Its small size suits hedges, mass plantings, mixed borders, perennial gardens, edging and containers. Proven Winners reports it as non invasive and approved for sale in Oregon and Washington.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 2.5 ft tall and 2.3 ft wide
- Blooms in summer, fall
- Hardy in USDA zones 5-9
- Deciduous foliage
