More about this plant
A Southern Indica hybrid azalea and one of the largest of the group, a vigorous evergreen shrub reaching roughly 6 to 10 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide. It carries a mass of single pure white blooms about 3 inches in diameter through spring, opening with the rest of the Southern Indicas in late March and early April, and it is rated among the finest azaleas for bright locations. It is cold hardy only to about 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, so it belongs in the warmer end of the azalea range, and it wants the usual acid, organic, well drained soil kept evenly moist. Use it as a tall informal screen, a background shrub, or in mass plantings and woodland gardens.
