More about this plant

A fast growing, naturally compact Encore azalea about 3 feet tall by 3.5 feet wide, carrying clear red semi-double and single blooms roughly 2.5 inches across. It flowers heavily in spring and then again through summer and fall, with bright green evergreen foliage giving structure between flushes. Allow 4 to 6 hours of direct sun for best blooming, with morning sun and afternoon shade in hotter regions, and plant in acid, well drained soil set slightly high to prevent waterlogging. Mulch 2 to 3 inches, fertilize after the spring bloom and stop feeding after August, and prune immediately after spring flowering.
