More about this plant

A Kurume hybrid azalea forming a dense, compact mound roughly 2 to 3 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide, one of the cold hardier evergreen azaleas. It blooms early, from late March into mid April, with vivid red to rose pink single flowers about 1.5 inches across over small glossy dark green leaves that turn red to wine red in winter. It prefers morning sun in the north and dappled shade in the south, wants slightly acid, well drained soil, and tolerates drought and salt once established.
