More about this plant

A dense, rounded and well branched Encore azalea about 3.5 feet tall by 4 feet wide that fills out naturally without much pruning. Deep pink single flowers of clear, saturated color, about 3 inches across, cover it generously in spring and return in summer and fall, and the rich green evergreen foliage deepens to warm reddish hues as temperatures cool. Give it 4 to 6 hours of direct sun, with morning sun and afternoon shade ideal in hotter or reflective sites, and acid soil around pH 5 to 6 that is well drained and evenly moist. Set the root ball 1 to 2 inches above grade to avoid soggy roots, mulch 2 to 3 inches, and prune after the spring bloom.

  • Part Shade
  • Grows to 3.5 ft tall and 4 ft wide
  • Blooms in spring, summer, fall
  • Hardy in USDA zones 6a-10b
