More about this plant

A compact shrub with a dense, erect and rounded habit reaching about 3 to 5 feet tall and wide, developed by Dr. Tom Ranney at NC State. Large clusters of white flowers nearly cover the plant in summer and mature to lime green, and because the florets are sterile they set no seed while fresh blooms can keep emerging from the aging clusters. The deep green leaves are simple, opposite and serrate, and mature bark is dark brown to gray, furrowed and shredding. Grow it in full to partial sun in fertile, well drained soil, and use it as a specimen, a hedge, or a foundation and border shrub.
