A narrow, upright, dense ginkgo reaching about 60 feet tall and only 25 feet wide, which makes it a standard choice for streets and formal avenues. Its fan shaped emerald green leaves are 2 to 3 inches long and clustered on short spur shoots, turning brilliant golden yellow in fall and shedding almost all at once. Grow it in full sun in clay, loam or sand with good drainage, across acid to alkaline soils. It tolerates heat, drought, salt, pollution and urban conditions with medium maintenance, and as a male selection it avoids the foul smelling fruit produced by seedling female trees.
