More about this plant
A small, slender, multi branched deciduous magnolia of about 15 to 20 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide, narrow enough for a courtyard or a container. Deep burgundy red goblet shaped blooms roughly six inches across open on bare stems in early spring before the foliage emerges, and they cut well. Grow it in full sun, watering deeply while it establishes and avoiding heavy wet soils; once settled it needs water only when dry. Deer and rabbit resistant, it works as a focal point, a border accent or a foundation specimen.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 20 ft tall and 10 ft wide
- Blooms in spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 5-9
- Deciduous foliage
