More about this plant
Apricot Echo is a broadleaf evergreen tea olive with opposite, leathery, lustrous dark green leaves that emerge burgundy and age to green. Unlike the white flowered species it carries the orange flowered var. aurantiacus colouring, producing small but intensely fragrant orange flowers repeatedly from fall through spring; the clusters are smaller than the standard orange form but the plant begins blooming while very young. It takes full sun to partial shade, tolerates clay and short dry spells given good drainage, responds well to pruning and is deer resistant and drought tolerant. Use it as a fragrant specimen, a hedge or screen, or near a patio or walkway where the scent carries.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 15 ft tall and 12 ft wide
- Blooms in fall, winter, spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 8-11
- Evergreen foliage
