The Holly family Ilex  includes plants ranging from 2' to 30' tall and that may be Evergreen or Deciduous. Given this diversity of characteristics, Hollies have many different roles in landscapes. Smaller varieties are common foundation shrubs, while larger varieties may be used as screens, corner plantings, or specimens that attract birds in the Winter.
