More about this plant

Carolina Sapphire is a selection of Arizona cypress, a fast growing evergreen conifer with an erect, pyramidal crown and fine textured scale foliage that runs green to blue green or grey green. The species grows in full sun in loam, sand or clay soils with good drainage, needs little water once established, and shrugs off deer, drought, heat, disease, insect pests and salt. Brown furrowed bark and cones roughly one to three inches long follow, and the dense evergreen habit provides cover and nesting sites for songbirds and small mammals. It suits screens, barriers, windbreaks and specimen planting on dry sunny sites.

  • Grows to 40 ft tall and 25 ft wide
  • Hardy in USDA zones 7-11
